		<description>Well, I do agree that my focus was on the intervention rather than the condition. I&#039;m sorry you are disappointed but menopause symptoms won&#039;t be better managed or understood as a consequence of trials like these. I agree it&#039;s a small contribution to a vast area but one can but try. Please feel free to point any other readers in the direction of evidence-based resources.</description>

		<description>Having been for acupuncture myself, I suspect a lot of the effect comes not just from patient-practitioner interaction but also from getting stressed people to lie down and relax for an hour or so, without feeling guilty about all the other things you should be doing because it&#039;s &#039;part of the treatment&#039;.  Even if they couldn&#039;t bring themselves to have a sham acupuncture arm, why on earth didn&#039;t the control group get a session of moaning about how rubbish they feel to someone who nods sympathetically, followed by a nice lie down?  It&#039;s not like it would have been expensive.  I smell propaganda.</description>
